On December 17, 1998, as the Defendant was attempting to turn left into
the K-Mart parking lot from westbound U.S. 30, a collision occurred with
Plaintiff, Christine Taylor’s vehicle which was traveling eastbound on
U.S. 30 in the far right lane. Following
the collision, Plaintiff’s vehicle rolled several times down an
embankment.
Plaintiff contended she had the right-of-way, while Defendant
contended Plaintiff’s speed at the time of the collision, contributed to
her injuries and damages. Defendant further disputed the nature and extent of
Plaintiff’s injuries and damages.
Plaintiff, Christine Taylor’s losses claimed were medical
expenses in the amount of $20,411.59 and lost wages in the amount of
$19,012.00. Plaintiff, Tommy
Taylor, claimed lost wages in the amount of $396.31 and the loss of
consortium of his wife.
The jury returned a verdict in favor of the Defendant.

On January 2, 1999, Plaintiff was going westbound on U.S. 30 in
Schererville at approximately 11:00 a.m. The weather conditions were a snow blizzard and whiteout.
Defendant traveling south on Cline Avenue had the red light and
skidded on to U.S. 30 striking Plaintiffs vehicle.
Plaintiff suffered injury to the left wrist and had two surgeries.
